Lena Hagglund, Kennel O’Flanagan, Sweden<\/strong><\/p>

I have been in Flatcoats since 1972 and was also by that time more involved in horses than I am nowadays. Our prefix O\u2019Flanagan comes from an Irish showjumper owned by and competed with by Miss Pat Smythe. They were competing all over Europe and in the Olympic Games. Further on there were more and more Flatcoats and less horses for me. And in September 2022 we celebrated 50 years with Flatcoats! I became an authorized judge 1991 and am now doing all Retrievers and a few Spaniel breeds. I considered judging education to be a natural development of my interest in animals in general and since I was always interested in anatomy and its impact negatively and positively on the movement in animals, this was a way to learn more. I also have a huge interest in health and soundness as well as illness and have during the years been a member of breeding committ\u00e9s in the Swedish Spaniel and Retriever Club as well as in the Breeding Council of our Flatcoated Retriever Club. My intrest in the dog world has brought me to many countries and continents for judging appointments and this has given me lots of friends all over. I have had the joy to judge our breed in many Specialties all over Europe, but also in the States as well as in Russia. One can see that Swedish Flatcoats have made a great impact in the breed in many countries but one can also find lovely, classic types of Flatcoats with a non Scandinavian background in their pedigrees. In my own breeding I love to use male\u2019s pedigrees that are not too \u201dcommon\u201d, I love to find interesting blood lines in other countries. We do not breed alot, but I love to see puppies growing up and continue to follow them after they have moved to their new homes. From the beginning I did not realize how difficult it would be to combine breeding, competing with my own dogs with judging appointments and I still want to be as active as possible with my own Flatcoats.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Neil Goodwin<\/strong><\/p>

First, I would like to thank the Flat-Coated Retriever Society of Canada for the opportunity to judge at your National Specialty. I always look forward to the opportunity to evaluate the accomplishments of the valued breeders of our magnificent breed.<\/p>

I have had purpose-bred Flat-Coats in my life for over 40 years. My first breeds were Flat-Coated Retrievers and Belgian Tervuren. I am an AKC Breeder of Merit for Flat-Coated Retrievers and Curly Coated Retrievers. Breeding only occasionally, I have bred and\/or owned 13 American Champions, five of which I subsequently showed to their American Grand Championship.<\/p>

I have always enjoyed attending Canadian Specialties, and have exhibited in at least a half dozen of them from Nova Scotia to British Columbia, finishing four Canadian Champions and seven Canadian Working Certificates.<\/p>

I have participated in and earned titles with my Flat-Coats in Conformation, Field Events, Obedience, Rally, Agility, and Fast CAT. I am a past President and the current AKC Delegate for the Flat-Coat parent club, the Flat-Coated Retriever Society of America.<\/p>

I am an AKC Conformation judge, approved to judge the Sporting Group, and also eight Herding breeds.<\/p>

I am a former 4-H Dog Project Leader, and have always taken an interest in helping young dog owners learn how to care for, train, and show their dogs.<\/p>

Lionel Whittaker<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have been involved in the sport of competitive obedience for the past 30 years, training and trialing my Labrador Retrievers in both Obedience and Rally Obedience.<\/p>\n

I actively campaigned two dogs for three years, putting MOTCHs on both. For each of those years the two held the ranking of #1 and #2 Obedience Labradors in Canada; in one of the three years the older of the two earned the ranking of #6 all-breed Obedience dog in Canada.<\/p>\n

My most recent forays into the ring have been with a Chesapeake Bay Retriever in Obedience and my young Labrador in Rally.<\/p>\n

While the majority of my ring experience has been in the regular classes, I have trained and handled my dogs in brace and team classes.<\/p>\n

In addition to Obedience and Rally Obedience I am also licensed to judge all levels of Hunt Tests and Working Certificate Tests.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Kelly Morris<\/strong><\/p>

I am a third-generation conformation dog person.<\/p>

I showed Shelties occasionally as a kid and learned obedience with my dog Sir Morris – BIS Ch Jo-Ro’s To Sir With Love and managed to earn a CD a him between shows.<\/p>

Later I became involved in the worlds of Agility, and then Rally-O, and had much\u00a0fun\u00a0in both sports.<\/p>

Enter Scent Detection. WOW!\u00a0 Nosework became my sport, and my passion. I started learning in 2014, and trialing and training in 2016. I have introduced it to all of my Shelties,\u00a0and they all love to ‘FIND IT’. I trial in CWAGS, SDDA, K9 ABC Games, CDSA, K9SDD and CKC.<\/p>

Currently I am an all levels judge in CWAGS, CKC and most recently I became a judge for CDSA. I am also working to achieve CNWI status with NACSW.<\/p>
